All four DEKA formats, a step from the beach

DEKA is Spartan’s functional fitness race: 10 zones (row, SkiErg, sled, medicine ball, box jumps…) that are the same all over the world, so your time compares with any DEKA. What changes between formats is how much you run before each zone.

In Barcelona the event is held at the Complejo Deportivo Municipal Mar Bella, next to Poblenou and the beach. Saturday has DEKA FIT Teams, DEKA MILE and DEKA STRONG; Sunday, individual DEKA FIT.

Barcelona is easy to reach and hard to sleep in cheaply at weekends. Booking a hotel near Mar Bella in good time and getting around the city without a car is half the battle won.

El Prat is about 25 km from Mar Bella. The venue, at avinguda del Litoral, 86-96, is close to the L4 metro stations in Poblenou.

Parking around the Litoral at weekends is hard; with the pack transfer you arrive from the airport or Sants without hunting for a space.

  DEKA Barcelona Primavera 2027 takes place on 20 and 21 March 2027 at Complejo Deportivo Municipal Mar Bella, Barcelona. The formats are DEKA FIT, DEKA FIT Teams, DEKA MILE and DEKA STRONG, and the official entry starts at €50 (DEKA STRONG).

• Do I need experience to do a DEKA?

  No. DEKA MILE (160 m of running between zones) and DEKA STRONG (no running) are the way in. DEKA FIT is the full format, with a 500 m run before each of the ten zones.

• Can I compete in pairs?

  Yes, in the Teams formats: you compete with a partner and share the work of each zone.

• Where is DEKA Barcelona held?

  At the Complejo Deportivo Municipal Mar Bella, avinguda del Litoral 86-96, next to Poblenou and the beach. It is close to the L4 metro stations in Poblenou and about 25 km from El Prat airport; parking along the Litoral is hard at weekends.

• Does the pack include the race entry?
