Where to stay before a race: choosing a hotel near the start
The best place to stay before a race is a hotel close to the start, with early breakfast and late checkout. The night before and race morning count as much as your last training session, and sleeping nearby is the easiest way to arrive rested.

Why does your hotel matter before a race?
Plenty of runners take care of every detail of their training, then sleep an hour away from the start, get up before dawn and rush to their wave. That early alarm, the drive and the hunt for parking are fatigue that piles up before the race even begins.
One bad night on its own will not ruin a race, but arriving tired from the journey does show. The goal is not to sleep more; it is to take away everything that is not running.
What to look for in a hotel before a race
Not every hotel works equally well for a race weekend. What matters most:
- Close to the start: walk to your wave, or get there in a few minutes.
- Early breakfast: eat what you always eat at the usual time, even if you start at 8:00.
- Late checkout: shower and rest after racing, without rushing to vacate the room.
- Room for your kit: muddy shoes, wet clothes and your race bag.
How to sleep well the night before a race
Pack your bag and lay out your clothes the night before, have a familiar dinner that is not too late, and avoid screens before bed. If nerves keep you awake, do not worry: what counts is your rest over the whole week, not a single night.
Why a nearby hotel helps after the race too
The weekend does not end at the finish line. With the hotel nearby you are back in minutes to shower, eat and rest before the trip home. If you are doing the Trifecta, recovering well between Saturday and Sunday is half the job.

Race hotel FAQ
Can I choose the hotel?
Yes. When you book the Total pack you choose from the hotels selected for your race, all of them near the start. Places are limited per hotel, so the earlier you book, the more choice you have.
When should I book?
As early as possible. Rooms near the start are limited on race weekend and the hotels usually fill up before the bibs sell out, so booking your bib and hotel together in the Total pack is the safest way to secure both.
Can I go with my partner or a friend?
Yes. With the companion offer your partner or friend shares your room at the Total pack hotel, close to the start, so you travel and stay together on race weekend. [Confirm conditions.]
Can I book just the hotel, without a bib?
[Confirm whether the hotel is sold without a race entry.]
What happens if I cannot make it?
[Pack cancellation policy.]
