What makes it unique

Held in a historic harbour warehouse

DEKA is Spartan’s functional fitness race: 10 zones (row, SkiErg, sled, medicine ball, box jumps…) that are the same all over the world, so your time compares with any DEKA. What changes between formats is how much you run before each zone.

In Valencia the event is held in Tinglado nº 2 at La Marina, an open-sided hall by the sea. Saturday is team day and Sunday is for individual DEKA MILE and DEKA FIT.

Valencia fills up with visitors in April; finding a hotel near La Marina and getting to the port without a car is the hardest part of the weekend.

Valencia airport (Manises) is about 15 km from the centre, and the AVE arrives at Joaquín Sorolla station. La Marina is on the seafront, with tram and metro lines to the port area.

With the pack transfer you go from the airport or the station to the hotel and the event without looking for parking by the port.

  DEKA Valencia 2027 takes place on 3 and 4 April 2027 at Tinglado nº 2 (La Marina de Valencia), Valencia. The formats are DEKA FIT, DEKA FIT Teams, DEKA MILE and DEKA MILE Teams, and the official entry starts at €50 (DEKA MILE Teams).

• Do I need experience to do a DEKA?

  No. DEKA MILE (160 m of running between zones) and DEKA STRONG (no running) are the way in. DEKA FIT is the full format, with a 500 m run before each of the ten zones.

• Can I compete in pairs?

  Yes, in the Teams formats: you compete with a partner and share the work of each zone.

• Is DEKA Valencia indoors?

  Under cover. DEKA Valencia is held in Tinglado nº 2 at La Marina de Valencia, a historic harbour warehouse with a roof but open sides, right by the sea. You are protected from sun and rain, but the early morning can feel cool.

• Does the pack include the race entry?

  Yes. Every Pulse pack, Essential or Total, includes the official race entry and bib for the format you choose. The pack then adds the services around it, such as hotel, transfer and nutrition, depending on the tier.
